This is a Wood Deck for the
1/196 USS Constitution "small" kit as manufactured by Revell, where the main deck is about 11 inches long.
(Note: This deck does
not
fit the HUGE Revell "Old Ironsides" kit, where the completed model is nearly three feet long; that is a separate product in the store!)
This set
consists of TWO separate deck pieces printed on a single sheet.  You get a "Box Fit" deck that is designed to be dropped right into place and fit perfectly around the molded-in gun carriages right "out of the box" - AND you ALSO get a "High-Detail" deck that would allow you to scrape off those poorly-molded carriages (and fill in the wells for the long guns) and replace them with aftermarket guns of much higher quality!  If you want a "Hybrid" deck, you can use the "Box Fit" deck as a template to transfer only the cuts that you want to the "High Detail" deck - you get the best of both worlds!
Both Decks feature "nibbing" at the bow, and wide planks underneath the carronades for historical accuracy.  Now you can have a beautifully-planked deck from bow to stern, and be able to replce the low-detail guns (if you want to!) on this otherwise fine Revell kit.

.  Our decks are incredibly thin - less than 1/100 of an inch - or not much thicker than a heavy coat of paint.  This allows you to glue them right on top of the plastic deck provided in the kit.  Since the wood decks are backed with thermal fleece to provide strength across the grain, this allows you to use your choice of adhesives.
At scaledecks.com, we do
not
burn in a plank pattern using the laser onto a grainy piece of wood, as we have found this to result in an unnatural appearance with heavy, chocolaty-brown lines on the deck.  Instead, we actually print with inks on a nearly grain-free piece of wood from relative of the Palmetto tree, and simulate individual plank tint variations as well as the grey oakum that was used to fill the gap between planks on the USS Constitution.  This is detail that simply cannot be achieved with a normal laser-cutting manufacturing process, and the resuting detail is unmatched anywhere else in the industry.
Decks are precision measured and cut to 1/100 of an inch accuracy, and all of our decks are custom tested on actual plastic kits.  This deck is known to fit the Revell 1/196 USS Constitution. (The "small" kit!)
